What happened to this poor cat? Mystique must have been someone’s pet , as she was wearing a collar. However, she was outside and not being cared for. At some point, she had slipped one front leg through the collar, but the collar was still around her neck and under one leg, causing a deep laceration. She was finally picked up by Animal Control, an event that certainly saved her life, and brought to us.

Mystique is a pretty, albeit small, calico, with a distinctive orange patch on the right side of her face. We estimate she was born in 2012, so she’s still a young cat. She’s very easy-going with people; we’ve actually been able to put the equivalent of a shirt over her body so she won’t lick that laceration, which is still healing at this writing (3/16/14). We do know that she does not seem to care for other cats very much.

After what Mystique has been through, it’s time for her to live the good life. We’re looking for someone to cherish this sweet feline; we know that her "forever" home is out there and it just takes the right person or family to walk through our doors.
